The more carbon on the inner surface of the filter, the more efficient the filter will be.
Activated carbon in granular form has the particularity of perfectly containing odours. The absorption capacity of the carbon is measured in iodine / gram. The iodine factor of this carbon filter is 1020 mg iodine per gram.
The carbon contained in this filter will move uniformly through the top and bottom of the filter with the same amount of air flow. The wear of the carbon will be more uniform making the filtration more efficient.
Odour Suction
For best results, it is advisable to install the filter in a negative pressure environment. It is preferable to suck air through the filter because the external pre-filter protects the internal filter from dust impregnation and maintains its life.
The longer the contact time between the air and the carbon, the higher the filtering efficiency. The optimum contact time is between 0.05 and 2 seconds.
An odour filter works best in an environment with a relative humidity below 70% and a maximum air flow temperature of 70°C.
Maximum airflow
The choice of filter will be based on a calculation based on the air change in your room per minute. Volume of your space x 60 = the amount of air to be moved per hour. You will then have to choose a filter whose maximum airflow exceeds the calculated one.
